Safeguarding Adults (SoVA)
The aim of this one-day course is to provide delegates with a working knowledge of the definitions and various forms of abuse and the impact abuse has on the abused and the perpetrator.
The course has been designed to focus on best practice when responding to alleged abuse using the current guidelines in Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA)
COURSE CONTENT
· The legal definitions of adult abuse and its various forms
· The patterns of abuse and its impact on vulnerable adults
· The signs and symptoms of abuse, both observable and indirect
· The impact of the effect of a complaint on the alleged perpetrator
· How to respond to a report of suspected abuse

Anyone whose work brings them into contact with customers in the social care sector.
