Support Worker

Central is currently recruiting for an experienced floating support worker, to work in the Lambeth area. The service provides supported housing to support vulnerable women with housing-related support, preparing and supporting them in their move towards independent living and a positive family life.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working on a fixed term contract for 6 months, with a possibility of extension. The salary for this role is £23,818 per annum, on a pro rata basis.

In this position, you will be responsible for the effective assessment of new referrals into the project, and the delivery of services to service users, ensuring effective reporting to the manager as appropriate. You will also be responsible for risk management and will carry out comprehensive needs and risk assessments. You will also be required to work with multiple agencies, including the police, solicitors, probation, immigration and other agencies as required.

To apply for this role, you must have experience of providing a support service to women and children, and experience of working with women offenders/ex-offenders. You must also have experience of working in a multi-agency capacity and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and Trafficking and the impact this has on support needs. You must also have knowledge and understanding of welfare rights and benefits, up to date knowledge of relevant legislation.

Due to the nature of the client group, only female candidates will be considered for this role.
