Central is currently recruiting for a part-time support worker to work in the Lewisham area. Candidates are required to be able to cover 25 hours per week across a rota of nights, evenings and weekends in a 24 hour service. The service provides supported housing to support women with substance misuse and mental health issues on release from prison.
This cover is required for a 3 month contract, with a likelihood of extension. The salary for this role is £23,818per annum, on a pro rata basis.
In this position, you will plan and facilitate activities to support life skills, provide support to service users in absence of their regular key worker and deal with any crisis or emergency situations that might arise. You would also be required to escort clients to meetings when required, prepare rooms for new arrivals and complete inductions.
To apply for this role, you must have experience of providing a support service to offenders/ex-offenders and or individuals with substance use issues. You must also have experience of lone working and working in crisis situations with the ability to manage highly challenging behaviour.
Candidates must also have the ability to write up clear notes following all shifts, and have an understanding of how to manage the safety and security of a building. Ideally, candidates would have an understanding of the Criminal Justice system or substance misuse and how this may affect the support needs of customers.
Due to the nature of the client group, only female candidates will be considered for this role.
