Care & Support Assistant 1

Central is working in partnership with One Housing Group to recruit permanent care & support assistants to staff a brand new service in West Hampstead. The aim of the service is to enable users to develop the necessary skills to live independently working jointly with customers, their families, friends and agencies involved in their care and support.

The service is a brand new service due to open in July 2018, focusing on improving the quality of life of customers, building confidence and skills to allow them to live independently while playing an active role in their communities.

We are currently recruiting for three full-time (37.5h pw) and two part-time (18.75h pw) positions. All positions will be working on a rota basis, 5 days per week across 7 days, including one sleep-in per week, to ensure the service is staffed 24 hours per day. The salary for this role is £19,013 per annum (pro-rata for part-time).

You will be required to provide hands on care, including providing clients with personal care as and when required. You will assist in the delivery of a high quality, person centred care & support service which reflects best practice and present a positive, welcoming and efficient environment to families and carers. You may be required to support and prompt users to take their medication and administer when appropriate.

To be considered for these roles, you will ideally have:

" Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities in a supported living setting
" Knowledge and understanding of up to date legislation, government frameworks relevant to the customer group. Specifically, around communication needs, values and person centred working.
" A well-organised approach, team ethos and good communication skills
" Good level of IT skills and literacy
" The ability to work on a rota basis over 7 days
" An understanding of Safeguarding Adults
" Experience of undertaking customer assessments, support planning and key-working with a clear outcome focus
" Preferably a level 2 NVQ qualification or equivalent
