Central is currently recruiting for a Team Leader, to work in the Westminster area. The service provides hostel support to young people aged 16 - 25 for up to a year, whilst developing the skills that will enable them to go on and build an independent life.
The successful candidate will be required to work 35 hours per week, working across 7 days between the hours of 8AM and 8:30PM. Cover is required for a period of 3 months with a likelihood of extension. The pay rate for this role is £17.50 per hour.
In this position, you will be required to provide leadership to ensure that each resident is supported and encouraged to work towards their stated goals, to achieve the best outcomes possible during their stay, so they can move on to more independent living. You will ensure an effective assessment and review process is in place to best meet the desired outcomes of the residents and you may be required to key work with some residents.
In addition, you will have line management responsibilities for staff; ensure that rotas are effectively coordinated to ensure the service has cover 24 hours a day; and oversee health, safety and security requirements, including supporting staff to deal with adverse incidents and emergency situations. You may also be required to be part of the on-call rota providing emergency support out of hours, however an additional allowance is payable for this.

- Previous experience of management at a similar level within hostel services
- Substantial experience of working successfully with vulnerable young people with complex needs
- Demonstrable ability to lead and motivate staff
- Experience in line management
