Support Worker
Homeless People and Substance Misuse | London NW1 |£11.20 per hour | 2-3 months | Job Ref: BD6386 | Posted: 30/11/2018

Central are currently recruiting for a Project Worker, to work in the Kings Cross area.

The service provides hostel accommodation to support men and women with complex and enduring needs in relation to substance misuse and other related issues with the aim to address the presenting needs of residents.

The successful candidates will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota covering early and late shifts (covering from 8AM - 4PM or 3:30PM - 10:30PM). Cover is required for 2 months initially, with a possibility of extension. The pay rate for this role is £11.20 per hour.

In this position you will be responsible for a caseload of 7 clients, and duties will involve:

- Day to day shift delivery
- Referral and assessment
- Processing move Ins
- Risk assessments
- Needs assessments
- Support planning
- Partnership working
- Managing clients' use of time
- Health and safety
- Benefits and budgeting support
- Housing management

Candidates must be willing to learn new systems if they do not have experience with the software, and must be proactive and engaged with supporting clients.

To apply for this role, you must have experience of working with homeless adults who have a variety of additional needs including substance misuse or mental health needs. You must also have an understanding of the principles of risk and needs assessment, and be able to flexibly work with clients who have a low level of engagement with the service.

Candidates must also have a good level of computer literacy and numeracy, as all notes must be recorded accurately, and clients will need assistance with budgeting calculations
