Central is currently recruiting for a Support Assistant to work in a Young People's assessment service. The service provides support for 6 weeks to young people with a variety of complex needs including substance misuse, mental health and forensic mental health backgrounds in the Whitechapel area.
In this role, you will carry out assessments alongside support officers, build partnerships and run social inclusion events on a regular basis. The aim of the service is to improve the quality of life of the customers, building confidence and skills to allow them to move on to independent living whilst continuing to play an active role in their communities.
The pay rate for this role is: £9.46 per hour
The appointed candidate will be required to work on a rota basis, covering early, late and sleep-in shifts. The shift times are as follows:
- Early: 8AM - 4PM
- Late: 3PM - 11PM
- Sleep-in: 11PM - 8AM (usually as part of a Late/Sleep-in shift)
Staff would need to complete sleep-in shifts once or twice a week.
To apply for this role, candidates must have experience of working with young people, and have previous experience and knowledge of safeguarding legislation including the ability to recognise safeguarding issues. Candidates will also ideally have some understanding of benefits & welfare support, along with a good level of IT skills and literacy.
