This course will focus on giving front line staff an overview of good practice relating to the general principles of Infection Control.

  • Organisational issues pertinent to infection control

    The trainer will use a variety of interactive training methods to ensure that delegates develop a thorough understanding of the topics, which they will be able to put to immediate practical use in their workplace.     General principles of infection control
  • Hand hygiene and the use of personal protective equipment
  • Managing sharps and disposing of waste
  • Managing blood and bodily fluids
  • Decontaminating equipment
  • Universal COSHH procedures
  • Reporting and managing accidents
  • Target Audience

    Frontline care workers or support staff.

    Training Considerations

    This course is a basic induction level training and no prior knowledge of infection control would be required before attending.

    Certification

    Upon completion of the course, the delegates will receive a certificate of attendance.
