Progression Coach

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Progression Coach, to work in the Brent area. The service provides support to young people to help them sustain their tenancy and successfully move on to independent living.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis covering late (1:30PM - 12:15PM), sleep in (12:15PM - 7:30AM) and early (7:30AM - 1:30PM) shifts. Temporary cover is required until March 2026. The pay rate is £14.17 per hour, with £1.71 holiday pay, totalling £15.88 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to;
- Hold a caseload of 6 young people and conduct key working sessions resulting in agreed Support Plans
- Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments
- Take responsibility, alongside the team, for the wellbeing and day to day support of all clients in the services
- Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations
- Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the organisation's wider community programme of activities
- Be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them
- Assist in preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the client to settle in
- Work within a psychologically environment to facilitate change and support clients with challenging behaviours and complex needs.
- Proactively work in partnership with multiple agencies including statutory teams, to support the wellbeing of clients in accordance with data protection and information sharing protocols
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable
- Have responsibilities as part of the team for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting

Please note, this role involves lone working.

To apply for this role, you must have;
- Experience of working with young people with mental health and or drug/alcohol dependency issues
- Ability to work with clients whose behaviour may be personally challenging
- Ability to establish and maintain professional relationships and boundaries with clients.
- Experience working in partnership with multi agency teams, including social workers, immigration and mental health professionals
- Knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments and Support Planning
- Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
- Commitment to promoting an environment which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others
- Effective collaborative working
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate across diverse cultures and backgrounds
