SHP

Single Homeless Project (SHP), is a London-wide charity working to prevent homelessness and help vulnerable and socially excluded people to transform their lives. SHP do this by providing support and accommodation, promoting wellbeing, enhancing opportunity, and being a voice for change. Each day across all 32 London boroughs, SHP staff work with individuals to tackle the underlying causes of homelessness, such as poor mental health or drug and alcohol dependency. From supporting people in crisis to helping people take the final steps towards independence and employment, SHP make a difference to more than 7,000 lives every year.

Central began working with Single Homeless Project (SHP) in 2005, providing a number of services with ad hoc and emergency shift cover. In 2006 we became a preferred provider and our service extended to providing shift cover to all their services. In 2015 we were asked to submit a competitive tender for the outsourcing of the following:

  • Locum Night Concierge Service (LNC)
  • Locum Bank Management
  • Provision of a Neutral Vendor Platform

Our competitive tender bid was successful and in late 2015 we implemented our Integrated Bank and Agency solution to manage all SHP’s ad hoc shift cover, line cover and waking night rotas utilising our Bank First protocols, designed to ensure locum workers are prioritised at every stage within the recruitment supply chain.

In 2016, to accommodate SHP’s rapid growth, we on-boarded a number of PSL agencies onto the CentralAxis Neutral Vendor Platform to assist with a growing demand for line cover and shift cover at times of peak demand.
