Medication for Managers

Duration

Full Day

Course Overview

Central Training's Medication for Managers course is designed to provide further understanding into how medication works and the effects it has on the user. This course also explores what alternatives are available for those people who prefer not to take medication. The training aims to support workers and their managers or others who may control, handle or administer medicines on behalf of others. It looks at legislation, processes of obtaining, administering and disposal, plus the importance of accurate recording to create an audit trail with the intention of supporting and re-enforcing good practice. The trainer will cover the legislation that underpins medication administration and the processes from ordering through administration to disposal of medicines. The different routes for administration of medicines and possible drugs for each will also be covered and the candidates will finally have the opportunity to explore how to safely handle and deal with the documentation surrounding medicines.
