Course Overview


This one-day training for non-operational staff brings together the fundamental principles and practice of boundaries and safeguarding.

The course provides an opportunity to define and reflect upon essential issues such as the meaning and purpose of professional boundaries, the importance and impact of professionalism and duty of care, and personal disclosure and confidentiality in relation to managing inter-colleague or client-worker relationships.

This course provides a safeguarding overview including principles of safeguarding and guidelines around internal policies and procedures. The course focuses on roles and responsibilities across the organisation and gives clarity on processes and protocols by drawing on real-life case studies of safeguarding concerns and incidents experienced by non-operational staff.


Learning Outcomes


This course is designed to provide delegates with the tools to:

  • Understand the power imbalance inherent in client-worker relationships
  • Identify the risks associated with not maintaining boundaries
  • Identify potential or actual safeguarding concerns
