Course Overview



This accredited (MHFA England) mental health awareness and skills course qualifies delegates as MHFA Champions, giving them knowledge and confidence to provide Mental Health First Aid for the most common mental health issues. It also equips delegates with the knowledge and confidence to advocate for mental health awareness, the ability to spot signs of mental ill health and the skills to support positive wellbeing.

Everyone who completes the course gets a certificate of attendance to say you are an MHFA Champion, a manual to refer to whenever you need it, a quick reference card for the Mental Health First Aid action plan, and a workbook including a helpful toolkit to support your own mental health.

  • Methods of Delivery



    Learning takes place through group activities, videos, presentations and discussions. Each topic is explored with sensitivity to minimise any distress regarding some of the more serious mental health issues covered. Participants aren't expected to disclose personal information but a group confidentiality agreement is in place if they do so.

    Target Audience

    Anyone who works with people experience mental health issues and would like to improve their knowledge and confidence in providing support and offering early intervention.

    Training Considerations

    There are no pre-training requirements for this course.

    Certification

    Everyone who completes the course gets an Adult MHFA manual to refer to whenever they need it and a certificate to say they are an Adult MHFA Champion.
