Professional Boundaries for Managers

Course Overview

This course provides a safe space for Managers and Supervisors to consider the responsibilities they have for promoting and maintaining boundaries within their teams (in accordance with organisational expectations and related policies).
It recognises that managing and supervising can be challenging and has been designed to help delegates reflect upon the skills and knowledge required to manage oneself and role model best practice whilst line-managing a team.
This one-day virtual training session considers the fundamental principles of good practice and provides an opportunity to define and reflect upon essential themes such as the meaning and purpose of professional boundaries, whistle blowing and safeguarding, personal disclosure and confidentiality within the client-worker and staff-staff relationships.

  • An understanding of key responsibilities under safeguarding and whistleblowing, Mental Capacity Act and risk management procedures
  • An exploration of the complex issues surrounding the personal disclosure, touch and friendships
