Emotional Intelligence

Course Overview


This course aims to enable candidates to develop their Emotional Intelligence and learn practical tools to manage their emotions to ensure a calm and focussed response to different situations or people. The trainer will cover techniques that promote greater control over emotions, and the ability to perceive the emotions of other people, and build strong and effective relationships with them. Finally the candidates will have the opportunity to explore their own emotional responses to scenarios and identify personal habits they may not have previously been aware of.


Learning Outcomes


This course aims to provide delegates with the skills to:
  • Understand what Emotional Intelligence is and why it's important
  • Be able to relate more effectively to their colleagues and to others
  • Know how to communicate in an emotionally intelligent way
  • Describe brain function as it relates to emotional intelligence
  • Be aware how their emotions affect their behaviour and performance

    This course will use a variety of training methods including: tutor presentation, small group work, co-coaching, reflection and discussion.
