Child Sexual Exploitation (CSE) & Radicalisation

Course Overview



This course aims to provide delegates with an understanding of Radicalisation and CSE and the relevant legislation and guidelines (e.g. the Counter-Terrorism and Security Act 2015). The session will cover the dangers to children and young people and discuss different ways to build resilience and raise awareness. It will also help frontline staff and those working in Education to understand the risk factors and recognise the signs and behaviours of radicalisation and CSE. This course is very interactive and delegates will have the opportunity to discuss real case studies and exchange views and practices.

By the end of this course delegates will have covered:
  • The definitions of Radicalisation and CSE
  • Common attitudes and beliefs
  • The risk factors
  • The grooming process and how to identify signs of it
  • The impact of Radicalisation and CSE on children and families
  • Risk assessment, the referral process, and early interventions
  • Ways to raise awareness and build "Healthy Relationships"

    The majority of this course is interactive with very little PowerPoint presentation. It involves a quiz, group work, group discussion, videos, real case studies, and individual work (risk assessment).

    Target Audience

    Anyone within the Education, Social Care, Health, Police, or Voluntary Sectors who would like to gain a better understanding of Radicalisation and CSE.
