Course Overview



Central Training's Universal Credit: Update & Overview course aims to give an overview of Universal Credit (UC) and the "managed migration" of legacy benefits to UC. This session is aimed at frontline workers who support clients to claim and maintain UC and it aims to cover the key points that those supporting UC claimants need to be aware of. Finally the candidates will have the opportunity to discuss and work on case studies related to different areas of UC, including managed migration, maximising entitlement and maintaining a claim for those with complex needs.

Learning Outcomes



This course aims to equip candidates with the skills to better understand:
  • How to make and maintain a UC claim
  • The migration process and who needs to claim
  • Risk levels of advice and signposting
  • The work capability process and work capability status

    Participants will be trained as a group, using a PowerPoint presentation and supporting notes. Questions and comments will be encouraged, and

    This course is aimed at frontline workers who support service users who may need to claim Universal Credit or require support to maintain their claim.

    Training Considerations

    There are no pre training requirements for this course, although basic knowledge of the Legacy system will be an advantage to participants.

    Certification

    Delegates will receive a certificate of attendance upon completion of this course.
