Support Worker

Central is currently recruiting for an experienced floating support worker, to work in the Lambeth area. The service is specifically looking for a candidate with experience of women who have been victims of trafficking. You will deliver a floating support service to trafficked women who require additional support following a move from first-stage safe houses. You may also work with female ex-offenders and their dependent children, upon release from prison.

The successful candidates will be required to work approximately 35 hours per week, working on a temporary basis whilst permanent recruitment takes place. Candidates are expected to participate in an out of hours rota approximately once every 4 months. The hours for this role are 9AM - 5PM, however each worker is expected to cover one late shift (from 12PM - 8PM) once every fortnight. The pay rate for this role is £12.21 per hour.

In this position, you will be responsible for the effective assessment of new referrals into the project, and the delivery of services to service users, ensuring effective reporting to the manager as appropriate. You will also be responsible for risk management and will carry out comprehensive needs and risk assessments. Within this role, you will hold a caseload and may be required to advocate for your key clients.

To apply for this role, you must have experience of providing a support service to women and children, and preferably with women who are victims of trafficking. You must also have experience of working in a multi-agency capacity and knowledge of the Criminal Justice System and Trafficking and the impact this has on support needs. You must also have knowledge and understanding of welfare rights and benefits, up to date knowledge of relevant legislation.

Due to the nature of the client group, only female candidates will be considered for this role.
