Hostel Duty Officer

Central is currently recruiting for a Hostel Duty Officer, to work in the Westminster area. The service provides a range of support within a hostel setting for homeless young people and families in need to gain the skills and support they need to overcome poverty and homelessness.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Tuesday - Saturday, 8AM - 4PM. Cover is required for 3 months. The pay rate for this role is £15.38 per hour.

In this position, you will lead on the administration of systems that enable to hostel to operate effectively including: housing management, financial management and security, health and safety. You will be the first point of contact for referrals and will be responsible for managing relationships with referral agencies, managing the waiting list for the service, and carrying out needs and risk assessments with applicants.

In addition, you will be required to oversee the hostel duty rota, ensuring cover is available to support residents 24/7 including liaising with agencies to find appropriate cover for planned and unplanned absences, and approving timesheets as required.

To apply for this role, you must have experience of working with young people and evidential supervisory experience. You must have experience of carrying out needs and risk assessments, maintaining financial records, managing referrals and managing staff rotas.
