Housing Management Assistant

Central is currently recruiting for a Housing Management Assistant, to work in the Brent area. The service provides housing services and support within the housing team of a large mental health charity.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday -Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Cover is required for approximately 3 - 4 months, with a likelihood of extension. The pay rate for this role is £11.79 per hour.

In this position, you will manage the day to day maintenance in line with the organisation and Registered Social Landlords procedures, including reporting new repairs and following up existing and outstanding repairs, raising jobs and purchase orders where necessary. You will work alongside the housing team to ensure voids are turned around within a 7 day period by dealing with any purchase or maintenance issues in a timely fashion, and ensuring budgets are used effectively.

In this role you will have line management responsibilities for two part-time cleaners, including the carrying out of annual appraisals to ensure effective and efficient cleaning of all communal areas in all houses and to arrange additional deep cleaning and the cleaning of void rooms where necessary.

You must good verbal and written communication skills, as you will be responsible for sending weekly arrears letters and rent statements, maintain a supply of up to date tenant sign up packs and keep accurate records of any purchases made.

To apply for this role, you must have good overall knowledge of housing management issues, previous experience within a similar role, and the ability to manage a fast pace and demanding working environment. You must also be able to work accurately to deadlines and prioritise your own workload.
