Central is currently recruiting for a Housing First Specialist Worker to work within the Islington area.

The service aims to place clients who are street homeless into independent and stable accommodation, following the Housing First model of practice. You will be providing housing related support to people with repeat histories of homelessness and who experience multiple disadvantages with the aim of preventing tenancy breakdown, improving quality of life and promoting independence.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM, Cover is required for 3-6 months and the pay rate for this role is £12.87 per hour.

In this position, you will provide quick and responsive interventions that prevent tenancy breakdown, improves quality of life and promotes independence. You will have a caseload of 5 of Islington's most high profile and hard to engage clients with varying needs with a focus on tenancy sustainment and homelessness prevention to those with complex needs

To apply for this role, you must have:

" A strong working understanding of the Housing First model
" Demonstrable experience of working with clients who have extensive histories of homelessness, and other additional complex needs (substance use, mental health) and may present with challenging behaviour
" High levels of resilience and be able to able to work in a boundaried way with this client group
" The ability to work effectively with partner agencies and develop contacts and networks across a wide range of local services
" A proven track record of achieving measurable outcomes with clients with complex needs
" The ability to respond calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively, safely and creatively to complex and challenging situations

Previous experience of working with complex needs clients in a similar role is a necessity. Only candidates who can evidence all of the above will be considered for the role.
