Housing Advisor

Central is currently recruiting for a Housing Advisor, to work in services across London. In this role you will be responsible for ensuring that young people have a smooth transition into accommodation that it is well maintained, safe and suitable.

The role of Housing Advisor is part of the Prevention team in London supports a caseload of vulnerable young people between the ages of 16-25. The role includes providing support and advice on housing options, rights and entitlements on all social welfare topics, to help secure safe and sustainable accommodation for young people. In addition the role will include making internal and external referrals to services that can provide further support.

A key part of the role will also be developing new links and relationships with external organisations and feeding back to the team on the support which is available from external partners.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. This role is offered on a Fixed Term Contract until the end of March 2021. The salary for this role is £25,124 per annum pro rata, with additional benefits including 26 days AL + bank holidays (pro rata).

To apply for this role, you must have:
- Experience of working within a supported and/or social housing setting in an assets based way
- Experience of providing bespoke support to young people who are facing or have experienced homelessness.
- Good knowledge and understanding of intensive housing options, welfare entitlements, and legal rights
- Experience of building successful and effective partnerships with external agencies
- Able to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures

Candidates will be asked to complete a short supporting statement in application for this role prior to the deadline of 12PM on the 29th July. Interviews will then be scheduled for shortlisted candidates.

Candidates should be immediately available and hold a fully enhanced DBS issued within the last 12 months to be put forward for this role.
