Relief Worker
Homeless People and Substance Misuse | 1 N4 |£14.08 per hour (incl. of Holiday Pay) | 4-5 months | Job Ref: BD7332 | Posted: 18/11/2020

Central is currently recruiting for four Relief Workers to work in the Finsbury Park area. In this role, you will be based in a care home for adults with the dual diagnosis of substance misuse and mental ill health.

The successful candidates will be required to work 36.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday, covering a mixture of early, late, sleep-in and night shifts on a rolling rota.

Shift times are as follows:
- 8AM- 3:30PM
- 2PM - 9:30PM
- 9:30PM - 8:20AM
- Sleep-in shifts: 2PM - 9:30PM, sleep-in, 8AM - 3:30PM

You will be required to work alternating weekends. Cover is required for 2 months initially, with a possibility of extension. The pay rate for this role is £12.56 per hour, totalling £14.08 inclusive of holiday pay.

In this position, you will:
- Provide advice to clients on health, Harm Reduction strategies, welfare benefit claims and other issues as necessary
- Support and encourage residents with their personal care and hygiene in accordance with their individual care plan
- Accompany some residents to medical appointments as and when necessary
- Engage in activities with residents in and outside the home
- Be trained to administer medication

To apply for this role, you must have experience of working in a care setting and have experience of working with adults with complex needs and ideally the dual diagnosis of substance misuse and mental ill health. You should also have experience of managing challenging behaviour.
