Support Assistant

Central is currently recruiting for a Support Assistant to work in the Leyton area in accommodation services for adults with mental health problems.

The service provides support to clients across 6 properties across the borough and to a small group of floating support clients. The service also provides a day service using local community spaces as well as a counselling service. A high level of support is provided around medication and money management.

The successful candidate will be required to work 25 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday, working three shift patterns: 09:00am to 20:00, 09:00am to 14:00pm and 15:00pm to 20:00pm. There will be weekend working involved with least one weekend (Saturday and Sunday) or part of two weekends (Saturday or Sunday) per month. Cover is required for 2-3 months initially, with a possibility of extension. The pay rate for this role is £10.76 per hour, totalling £12.06 per hour inclusive of holiday pay.

In this role you will work alongside a Duty Officer and may be required to carry out Reception duties, in addition to supporting clients of the services as and when required.

To apply for this role, you will ideally have a minimum of NVQ level Two (or equivalent) in Health and Social Care and have experience of working with adults with complex mental health, including paranoid schizophrenia.

The Supported Housing Project is spread across 6 ordinary houses in the community across Leyton and Leytonstone in Waltham Forest so candidates should be prepared to travel between the houses.
