Progression Coach

Central is currently recruiting for a Progression Coach, to work in the Islington area. The service is an emergency accommodation for young people aged 18-24 with low - medium support needs who are currently rough sleeping or at risk of rough sleeping.

The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis, covering early (8:15AM - 4:15PM) and late (2:15PM - 10:15PM) shifts. There is a requirement to work every other weekend. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2 months. The pay rate is £13.70 per hour, with £1.65 holiday pay, totalling £15.35 per hour.

In this position, you will be expected to;
- Hold a caseload of 7-8 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART outcome based Support Plans
- Complete ongoing needs and risk assessments
- Support clients to sustain their tenancy and successfully move on into longer-term accommodation within 56 days
- Work in partnership with multiple agencies to support clients
- Support all clients to participate in education, training, employment and volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations
- Prepare the accommodation for new clients to move into and support them to settle in.
- Deliver one-to one and group support opportunities within client's accommodation and in the local community aimed at increasing resilience
- Ensure the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.
- Undertake housing management duties including coordinating repairs and banking
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times including using safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable

Please note, this role involves lone working.

- Experience of working with young people
- An understanding of the needs of people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health, substance use
- Experience of supporting clients to move-on
- Experience of holding a caseload, conducting support plans, risk assessments and needs assessments
- The ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures
- A high level understanding of professional boundaries and ability to maintain boundaries
- Experience of managing challenging situations in relation to people, including responding calmly to crisis and deal promptly, effectively and safely to complex situations.
- Commitment to promoting an environment, which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
