Central is currently recruiting for a female only Resettlement Worker, to work in the Westminster area in a hostel for homeless women. The service supports women affected by substance misuse, unemployment, domestic violence and mental health issues and aims to help towards independent living.

The successful candidate will be required to work 40 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis, covering early (8AM - 4PM) and late (1PM - 9PM) shifts. There is a requirement to work two weekends in every five weeks. Cover is required on a temporary to permanent basis (3 months temporary before transferring to a permanent contract). The pay rate for this role is £15.94, with £1.92 holiday pay, totalling £17.86 per hour.

Please note; the service is based over two sites, 100m apart and the job regularly involves walking throughout and between both sites. One site is a building over five floors, with stair access only.

In this position, you will be expected to;
- Hold a caseload of women and support them to gain the skills needed in order to live independently; clients are expected to be at the service for no more than 2 years and the main route into independent living will be PRS (Private Rented Sector)
- Use motivational and asset-based interviewing techniques to interview, assess and create support plans and risk assessments that address the needs of service users
- Assess service users' clinical risk and identify steps to reduce the likelihood and effect of these risks, always working to safeguard service users
- Take a positive, trauma-informed approach to working with service users with complex needs and challenging behaviour
- Carry out a variety of workshops to support the clients to gain the skills needed and use internal and external partners to help clients get back into work or education
- Support women to understand financial responsibilities, paying rent, bills, council tax and applying for benefits
- Identify, maintain, and develop relationships with external agencies where required as well as accompanying service users to off-site appointments
- Provide holistic support to empower women into independent living.
- Work within a trauma informed, Psychologically Informed Environment Framework
- Provide housing advice and move-on preparation and support
- Contribute to the timely screening of referrals
- Report all repairs, housekeeping, and maintenance issues to those responsible.
- Handle, record, and report incidents in accordance with agreed policies and procedures.

To apply for this role, you must have;
- Experience of working with vulnerable women with complex needs including substance misuse, mental health and domestic violence
- Up to date knowledge around the challenges faced by homeless women, including trauma and coping with transition
- Experience of supporting clients moving into independence
- Understanding of effective voids and arrears management, including financial support, with up-to-date knowledge around the welfare benefit system
- Skilled at employing a motivational interviewing/ Psychologically-Informed Environment approach to assessments and Support planning
- Ability to effectively risk assess within a dynamic fast paced environment
- Understanding of Safeguarding vulnerable adults
- Experience of delivering and facilitating presentations and activity sessions
- Demonstrate an understanding of statutory compliances and standards such health and safety, equal opportunities, confidentiality, GDPR, particularly within a residential setting
