Case Worker

Central is currently recruiting for two Case Workers, to work in the Waltham Forest area. The service provides support to clients who have been referred by the Local Authority Housing Options teams to secure settled accommodation.
The successful candidate will be required to work 37.5 hours per week, working across Monday - Friday, 9AM - 5PM. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2-3 months. The pay rate for this role is £14.49 per hour, with £1.75 holiday pay, totalling £16.24 per hour.
In this position, you will be required to: - Hold a changing caseload of key clients and undertake regular key working sessions resulting in agreed Support Plans - Complete high quality risk and needs assessments and risk management plans - Undertake comprehensive assessments that lead to focused and co-produced Personal Housing Plans for each client - Support must be focused on achieving defined outcomes, namely the prevention or relief of homelessness and the sustainment of subsequent tenancies for at least eight month - Proactively liaise, communicate and negotiate with internal and external specialists and external agencies in order to maximise client support services, resources and funding - Work effectively with the local housing options team to ensure clients referred to the service are suitable and where not, why this is the case - Assist service users to develop life skills and partake in meaningful occupation activities to promote increased independence and involvement with the community

To apply for this role, you must have; - Experience of working with vulnerable clients - Experience of delivering high quality, structured and time limited interventions that prevented or relieved homelessness - An understanding of securing accommodation in the private rented sector - Demonstrable knowledge of Housing and other related Legislation including Homeless Reduction Act - Experience of supporting clients to sustain a tenancy - Experience of completing high quality support plans which are collaborative and focused on setting and achieving goals - Experience of working collaboratively with a number of different stakeholders in the public, private and voluntary sector to improve outcomes for clients - The ability to work within a strengths and recovery based model and engage and motivate people to move towards an appropriate level of independence and inclusion - The ability to use of IT applications and basic keyboard skills
