Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for two Supported Housing Officers, to work in the Camden area. The service is an all-male hostel providing temporary accommodation and support for single homeless men with a broad range of support needs, including substance misuse, mental ill-health and those under MAPPA.
The successful candidates will be required to work 35 hours per week, working across Monday - Sunday on a rota basis covering early (8AM - 4PM) and late (12PM - 8PM) shifts. There is a requirement to work 1 weekend a month. Temporary cover is required for approximately 6 months, with the possibility of transferring to permanent. The pay rate for this role is £16.84 per hour, with £2.45 holiday pay, totalling £19.29 per hour.
In this position, you will be expected to; - Hold a caseload of 8 key clients and conduct regular key working sessions to assess their housing, health and support requirements and jointly agree strategies to enable these needs to be addressed - Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments as well as Support Plans - Assess referrals according to agreed policies and procedures - Provide an efficient and welcoming reception service to visitors to the hostel - Be responsible for the security of the building and the safety of residents and to complete regular house rounds - Arrange lettings and to ensure the occupancy agreement and all relevant policies and procedures are explained to new residents - Ensure new residents' private space is clean and tidy before letting and provide advice to residents on the cleanliness of their bed space - Offer advice and support to enable residents to achieve maximum benefit from their stay and successfully maintain their accommodation - Refer residents to in-house and external specialist services where appropriate - Give welfare rights advice and act as an advocate when dealing with the Benefits Agency and Local Authority - Individually assess residents for resettlement and help residents to move into more suitable accommodation - Deal with arrears promptly and deal with breaches of the occupancy agreement sensitively and efficiently and in accordance with the warnings and appeals procedure - Report maintenance repairs and to call out emergency contractors when necessary
To apply for this role, you must have; - Experience of working with clients who experience multiple disadvantages such as homelessness, mental health, substance use and those under MAPPA - Experience holding a caseload and completing needs and risk assessments - Experience of managing complex and/or difficult situations in relation to vulnerable adults. - The ability to effectively liaise with a range of service providers or agencies in order to establish or improve services for clients. - Experience of providing housing related support to vulnerable clients - IT Skills including the following; data input and administrative skills, use of databases, use of Outlook
